Panam Kizhangu Urundai


It is a healthy snacks made up of palm sprouts / panam kizhangu and it is a popular dish in south india. It is rich in fiber content and it is one of the forgetten traditional snacks for children. I have tried to make this snacks recipe some more yummy so I choose some spice and mix it to the palm sprouts, roll it.

INGREDIENTS :

Palm sprouts / panam kizhangu - 3 (boiled)
Dry red chilli - 3
Pepper - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Salt - 1/4 tsp

Method :

  • Now take palm sprouts in a cooker and add salt and turmeric and whistled for 5.
  • After it boiled peel it and make it into small pieses.
  • Now add all the ingredients in the blender and also add the palm sprouts pieces. 
  • And grind it into a powder. now take a sifter and pour the grinded powder into it and sieve it.
  • Once it sieve and again add to the blender and again grind it.
  • And then pour the powder in to the sifter and again sieve it. 
  • Now it is done and transfer into a bowl and roll it in to small balls.
  • And the panam kizhangu urundai is ready for the evening snacks.

 Take your ingredients
 Take boiled palm sprouts in a plate 
And peel it and make it in to small pieces
 Add all the spice in the blender
 Add in sprouts
 Grind it into a powder
 Transfer it in to a sifter
 Sieve it
 Again add to the blender and grind it
 Now again sifter it
Sieve it 
 Now transfer it into a bowl
 See it is soft
 Now take small amount of mix in your palm
 Roll it into a ball
 See how it is
 Now it is ready
 Serve
